Our Story
Our studio name, “Promethean Photography,” was carefully chosen to signify our departure from the conventional portrait studio format. It draws inspiration from Prometheus, a figure in Greek mythology renowned for his intelligence, creativity, and daring defiance of the gods.
In contemporary language, “Promethean” embodies innovation, creativity, and forward-thinking. It characterizes individuals or entities that challenge established norms and take bold actions to instigate change. We chose this name because we believe in fostering a culture where everyone should be unapologetically Daringly Original!
Patrick’s Story
With over 20 years of experience, I have captured wildlife, landscapes, stock images, and tons (okay, maybe not a billion) of our two kids having a blast at Disney World and our favorite beach. Talk about precious memories!
My big push into portrait photography began as a portrait photographer, then eventually as Regional Operations Director for PCA International. You know, the company that shot your church photo directory? In their Church directory division, I traveled throughout the United States, overseeing and shooting thousands of portrait sessions, where I developed a strong understanding of what makes a good portrait. I firmly believe it all starts with the eyes; it all falls into place after that!
After PCA sadly closed its doors, I needed to shift gears and ventured into Healthcare Administration. Photography became more of a part-time gig for a while. But you know what they say: passion can call you back and after 15+ amazing years in Health Administration, I decided to follow my heart and make photography my full-time career on July 2023. And guess what? I have the best cheerleading squad by my side — my fabulous wife, Shannon, and my supportive son Skylar.
And here's the cherry on top: My daughter, Whitney, is my business partner! It's a dream come true for both of us to get to work together, combining our love for photography and creating something extraordinary.

Whitney’s Story
Whitney is a managing partner and my daughter. We’ve been told we have a Peter Parker, Tony Stark vibe when we work together, but Im not sure I see it. Compliment??
She's been passionate about photography since she was a young kid, always capturing moments with her camera. Funny how life works, though. Whitney started college at the University of Kentucky as a Pre-Veterinary major. Still, when the pandemic hit, and she was stuck in her dorm, her motivation took a hit too.
During that time, something amazing happened. Whitney's creative side flourished, and she began exploring photography in new and exciting ways. It was a turning point for her. She decided to take a break from college to rediscover herself and dive deeper into her passion for photography. While she plans to resume her academic journey, she's shifted her major to Graphic Design and Photography. Life has a way of leading us down unexpected paths, right?
Now, here's a fun fact about Whitney. Even though she's no longer pursuing a veterinary career, her love for animals remains unwavering. In fact, she's been our go-to pet photographer, specializing in capturing end-of-life pet sessions. It's a bittersweet but beautiful way to honor the bond we all have with our furry friends. She even adopted a geriatric, grumpy old cat named Severus, (One guess as to her favorite book/movies ), an exceptionally skilled black cat whose extremely cold and resentful exterior conceals deep emotions and anguish but seems to keep her on her toes and teaches her what the old-timers prefer.
So, you can trust that when you step into our studio or book a session with us, you're in the hands of someone with a genuine passion for photography and a drive to capture unique moments. (both humans and animals)
